Introduction Bettylouise

I am a Senior Citzen. I have read all my life. Currently I an reading mostly mysteries. I like cozies. This web is new to me. Since I am looking my eyesight, I read mostly on my Kindle. I do have paperback books to read when my Kindle is charging. This year I decided to write reviews and have been putting them on Amazon and Goodreads.

I do not have a Facebook or Twitter accounts. I do have a Google+ one and belong to Yahoo reading groups. Married over 50 years. I do have a Bengal Cat named Kato who is now 11 years.

Recently I have found 3  New authors that I enjoy. One is Karen Musser Nortman. She has a camping series out. The first one is BATS AND BONES. The one I like is THE BLUE COYOTE. The other one is PEETE AND REPETE.

I will discuss the other later.

The 7th Woman

The 7th Woman (Nico Sirsky, Chief of Police) - Frédérique Molay

A great French Police Procedural of suspense and horror. The characters caught my attention at once. At times I needed to put the book down to handle the descriptions of the murder. The twists and turns held my attention throughout the book. I did not know the murderer until revealed.
Chief of Police Nico Sirsky meets a woman and it is love at first sight. He receives a call of the nasty murder of a woman. The next day another victim is found and on the mirror the written in blood is Seven Days, Seven Woman. Each day another victim is found. As the investigation continues clues point toward Nick' s brother-in-law. Will the police find the killer before the seventh victim?

A Secret In Time

A Secret in Time (Big Honey Dog Mysteries #2) (Volume 2) - H.Y. Hanna
This a delightful fast read tale for everyone. Honey, a fawn color Great Dame is the protagonist. The story is told from Honey'point of view. Olive, Honey's human is invited to take pictures at local dog. Upon arrival Honey find many of her friends and their humans at the show. She meets several new friends. Strange events are happening and the talk circulating at show is that after the light go out and the scary howls one of the winning dogs will be hurt. Honey and friends work together to solve the mystery. This a first time for this author but it won't be the last.

Dogs & Murder

A Shot in the Bark: A Dog Park Mystery (Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries) - C.A. Newsome

This has an unusual format. It combines mystery and romance but it doesn't flow smoothly. It like reading two different books. I did like the format writing the murderer thoughts along with the story. The story has a number of twists that will keep you guessing until the end.
The protagonist, Liz friends the body of her boyfriend at the Dog Park. She is in shock and is found by others looking at the body. Liz convinced the detective to give Molly, the boyfriend's dog a home. There are instructions are new dog owners should handle there new friend. It becomes apparent that the killer frequents the Dog Park.
This is a new author for me and yes, I'll read the next book

The Paris Lawyer

The Paris Lawyer - Sylvie Granotier
I found the book to be well written and I like the plot very much. However I had difficulty getting into the story. At times I reread portions to understand what was going on. It seemed that the two subplots were mixed up. There were times I couldn't put the book aside.
As a child Catherine is nearby when her Mother is murder. She is now a lawyer in Paris and has except a case in an outlying providence to defend a black woman accused of murdering her husband. As the case developes her memory of her Mother's death is returning.

Dog Gone, Back soon

Dog Gone, Back Soon - Nick Trout

The title and the dog on the cover caught my attention as I like stories about animals. The descriptions of the animal actions were excellent as d true. Stash's was present. I story was very interesting. The story is told by Dr Cyrus Mills and thoughts about his total absorption with his crush on Amy. The problems of Bedside Manor and Dr Mills were all negative which he solved. The subtle message I got was anything was all all right as long as you didn't caught is not one I want endorse.

Marriage Before Baby

Unholy Matrimony (A Lucille Mystery) - Peg Cochran
This the second book in the series and new author for me. The satire is the best I have read in a long time. Lucille is desperate for her daughter Bernadette to be married before her baby is born. The baby is due anytime. At the rehearsal dinner she fights with groom's mother, Donna. Just before the wedding Donna is found dead in the church. Lucille tried to get the Priest to married her daughter. Neither the groom or his father are presented. While Lucille be successful in marrying her daughter and who kill the groom's parents? The result actions s are mostly trying to get Bernadette married before she has her baby. I will read more by this author's.

A Cold Heart - Jonathan Kellerman

A Cold Heart (Alex Delaware #17) - Jonathan Kellerman

A novel by Jonathan Kellerman is always a wonderful to relax and go on a adventure with Alex and Milo. A minor blues singer and quitar player, Baby Boy Lee is about to make a comeback. He is found murder in the alley where he was performing. He had song is signature song A Cold Heart. The Hollywood Division has the case and Petra Conners is in charge.
